BYC Saturday Cadet Coachng: Stage 3+ sailors with their own boat.

Risk Statement 

Sailing, by its very nature, is an unpredictable sport and inherently involves certain risks.

By allowing my child to participate in watersports activities, I, the parent/guardian of the child named above, hereby acknowledge and agree to the following:

Inherent Risk: I am fully aware of the natural risks associated with sailing and take responsibility for my child’s involvement in this sport."

Competence and Readiness: I have ensured that my child possesses the necessary skills, knowledge, and experience to safely participate in the appropriate watersports activities and to handle any conditions that may arise during training or racing.

Fitness to Participate: I will ensure that my child does not participate in watersports activities under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or any condition that would impair their ability to safely take part.

Boat Maintenance and Insurance: When using my own boat at BYC for social sailing, training, racing, or RYA courses, I take full responsibility for ensuring that the boat is in proper working order, appropriately equipped, and adequately insured (including third-party insurance with a minimum coverage of £3 million).

Liability for Actions: I accept responsibility for any injury, damage, or loss arising from my own actions or omissions, or those of my child, during the course of their participation.

Responsibility for Property: I am responsible for my child’s personal property, both afloat and ashore, while participating in any watersports activities.
